Sarma Recipe

Incredibly tasty cabbage rolls, this Sarma Recipe will delight your dinner guests.




3/4 pound of ground beef
3/4 pound of ground pork
3/4 pound of ground ham
6 slices of chopped bacon
2/3 cup of cooked rice
2 large cabbage heads
2 teaspoons of worcestershire sauce
1 minced onion
1 can of tomato soup
2 teaspoons of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 teaspoon of paprika
Boiling water
2 eggs


1. Cut out center core of cabbage. Pour boiling water over the cabbage and allow to soften. Next, saute the bacon and onion in a frying pan until the bacon is crispy. Add half of the tomato soup. Mix together the eggs, salt, pepper, paprika, worcestershire sauce, ground beef, pork and ham. Add the bacon mixture and rice and mix all ingredients well.

2. Drain the cabbage and separate the leaves. Put a tablespoon of stuffing at core end of each cabbage leaf and roll, tucking in the ends. Place the rolls in layers in a baking pan. Pour in the rest of the tomato soup and add water just covering the rolls. Cover and simmer in a low oven for 2.5 hours.
